In the line of duty, Officer Kidik found herself under a sudden and unexpected assault by a resident of the apartment complex. She endured a terrifying and brutal attack, during which she was knocked unconscious and repeatedly stabbed, with the most critical wounds inflicted upon her neck and torso. Her life hung in the balance.

Two heroic maintenance workers, fully aware of the imminent danger, rushed to her aid and demonstrated unwavering courage as they fought off the assailant, putting their lives on the line. The incident reverberated through the ranks of the Hartford Police Department, prompting a swift response from fellow officers who raced to the scene.
