Dog Shot and Nearly Killed,  Helped Transform Lives. Who Rescued Who? Star helped this former Corrections Officer heal from the trauma of prisons and helped countless others.

Star the dog was lunging at people after her person suffered seizures. Police shot the dog, fearing that Star would injure people. Initially thought to be dead, Star survived and was adopted by Corrections Officer, and NY native Charlie Cifarelli.

Charlie Cifarelli is our guest, he talks about the traumas he endured as a Corrections Officer, in addition the scars of his upbringing. Charlie also discusses how Star the Dog came into his life and helped him heal. Not only that Star became a celebrity and helped countless people heal and overcome their adversities.

Star is the subject of the book "I Am A Star" and Charlie has written a book about his life titled "14th and 2nd".

John J. Wiley is a retired Police Sergeant turned radio personality. He has been a full time FM Music Radio DJ since 2005. In 2017 he founded the Law Enforcement Today Podcast, in a partnership with Robert Greenberg of Law Enforcement Today. The show is now named the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast.
Within a couple months a radio station heard an episode of the podcast and asked him to create a radio version, which he did. It has been syndicated since the Spring of 2017 and has numerous affiliate radio stations across the US.
