While serving in Iraq, Dexter’s life took a brutal turn. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated during combat, critically injuring him. The blast was life-altering, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Recovery was not a matter of weeks or months, but years of relentless rehabilitation.
The injuries he sustained were not just the kind seen on X-rays or in surgery reports.
